Terms applying to the AeroNL Membership Agreement

1. Membership is held in the name of the organisation

Your organisation, not an individual employee, enters into an AeroNL membership. All employees within the organisation may therefore use the network, the knowledge, and the activities of the association. By accepting these terms, you register your organisation as a member of AeroNL.

2. Membership fee

Membership involves a fee. We use the fee in full to represent our members and provide services to them. You can calculate the basic fee applicable to your organisation using our fee calculator: https://aeronl-pricing.onrender.com. If you opt for Plus membership, a fixed supplement is added to that amount. Start-ups pay a reduced fee in their first years. By accepting these terms, you confirm that you have taken note of the cost of membership and that you agree to it. The fee is invoiced per calendar year.

3. Basic and Plus membership

Membership comes in two forms. Basic membership gives access to the network, the knowledge and the activities of the association. Plus membership is intended for organisations that want to help shape the direction of the sector. Alongside everything Basic membership offers, Plus members gain influence on our public affairs work, access to the Advisory Board and a prominent place in AeroNL’s communications and at our meetings. Any organisation may choose Plus membership, whatever its size or field of activity.

Plus membership carries a supplement of €20.000 per year on top of the basic fee. For knowledge institutions, this supplement is €15.000 per year. In return, we expect Plus members to put that influence to use, by taking part in the discussions and bringing in their knowledge where it moves the sector forward.

Moving from Basic to Plus, or back again, takes effect per calendar year. Let us know by email at info@aeronl.com no later than 30 September, and the change takes effect on 1 January of the following year.

4. Discount for start-ups

Start-ups pay a reduced fee during their first years of membership. An organisation qualifies if, at the time of application, it has been registered with the Chamber of Commerce for less than five years and employs no more than ten FTEs. The discount is 75 per cent in the first year of membership, 50 per cent in the second and 25 per cent in the third. From the fourth year onwards, the full fee applies.

We assess these conditions once, at the time of application. If your organisation grows in the years that follow, you keep the discount for the remaining years. The discount is calculated on the basic fee. If a start-up opts for Plus membership, the supplement for that is charged in full.

5. Authority

By accepting these terms, you confirm that you are authorised to enter into commitments on behalf of your organisation, or that you have been expressly authorised to do so by someone who holds that authority. This ensures that the membership rests on a sound footing within your own organisation from the outset.

6. Approval by the board

Every application for membership is submitted to the board of AeroNL for approval. Membership is established once the board has approved the application. As a rule this is a formality and the board is pleased to welcome new members. If an application is not approved, this will be explained in writing and no fee will be due.

7. Your point of contact at AeroNL

Once you have applied, we assign an account manager to your organisation. That person is your first point of contact for questions about the membership, for finding the right working groups and contacts, and for whatever you want to achieve as an organisation within the sector. In return, we ask you to tell us what is happening at your organisation, because the better we understand that, the more precisely we can help.

The contact person you provide on application is automatically subscribed to our newsletter, which covers sector news, meetings, and opportunities for members. 8. Term and cancellation

Membership is entered into for the duration of a calendar year and is subsequently renewed automatically for one year at a time. We hope for a long-standing relationship, while keeping cancellation simple and predictable.

• Submit cancellations by email to info@aeronl.com.
• AeroNL must receive the cancellation no later than 30 September, that is, before 1 October.
• Membership then ends on 1 January of the following year.
• If AeroNL receives the cancellation after 1 October, membership continues for one further calendar year.

For clarity: the decisive date is the date AeroNL receives the cancellation, not the date it was sent.

9. Mutual commitment

AeroNL is wholeheartedly committed to representing your organisation as effectively as possible. We represent the interests of the sector with the Dutch government, with knowledge institutions and at global level; we position Dutch organisations internationally through trade fairs, trade missions, and partnerships; we share knowledge, market intelligence, and business opportunities; and we bring members into contact with one another. Our guiding principle throughout is that the names of our members are heard in the places where it makes a difference.

In return, a trade association draws its strength from member involvement. We therefore expect your organisation to contribute actively to strengthening the Dutch aerospace and aviation ecosystem by taking part in meetings, working groups, and projects; sharing knowledge and experience with fellow members; seeking collaboration within the sector; and contributing to the direction of the association and the sector. We attach no formal obligations or performance requirements to this, but we do assume that every member gives substance to this involvement to the best of its ability, because the sector as a whole benefits from it.

10. Practical provisions

• Members keep their organisation details and contact person up to date, so that AeroNL can reach them with relevant information and opportunities.
• AeroNL handles member data with care and uses it solely for the membership and the associated services.
• Changes to these terms or to the fee structure will be announced well before 1 October, so that members can take them into account in good time.
• Where these terms differ from the articles of association of AeroNL, the articles of association prevail.
• Dutch law applies to the membership.

Declaration of agreement

By accepting these terms, you declare that you are authorised to act on behalf of your organisation, that your organisation is applying for membership of AeroNL, that you have taken note of the cost of the membership form you have chosen and agree to it, and that membership takes effect once the board of AeroNL has given its approval.
