Setting the agenda for Dutch aerospace & aviation
AeroNL collaborates with members to define priorities and shape important policies. We listen to manufacturers and specialists, then convey their voices to government.
Our three core policy themes
Aviation in Transition
Aviation in Transition leads the Dutch aerospace sector to zero-emission flight, connecting 100 companies with research and partners for hydrogen and sustainable fuels.
How policy actually gets made
Members set the agenda
We hear what the sector needs through Special Interest Groups, member committees, and direct conversations with the people running aerospace and aviation companies every day. Members set the agenda, not us.
Turn input into evidence
We turn member input into position papers, briefings, and proposals backed by research from NLR, TU Delft, and our European partners. The work has to stand up to scrutiny in The Hague and Brussels.
We carry it to government
We brief ministries, sit on national boards, like the Sustainable Aviation Round Table and the Airbus TEchHub and work with European partners through EACP. When the sector needs to be heard, we make sure it is.
Questions

AeroNL represents the Dutch aerospace and airport development sector in its dealings with the Dutch government. To this end, we maintain regular contact with the Ministries of Economic Affairs, Infrastructure and Water Management, and Defence. Our objective is always to ensure that the government acts as a partner to our sector, and that together we support the Netherlands’ economic earning capacity, resilience, and the sustainability of aviation.
For the Dutch aerospace sector in particular, we advocate a national aerospace innovation programme through which the sector works on making aviation more sustainable and seeks to secure a strategic position within international value chains in collaboration with international partners.
AeroNL is committed to supporting the sector as a whole and currently represents more than 100 members. In addition, Plus Members are directly involved in the drafting of policy papers and the development of a joint public affairs strategy. We align our agendas, coordinate our priorities, and actively involve one another in our engagements with policymakers and political stakeholders.
Twice a year, our Advisory Council convenes. During these meetings, the CEOs of our leading member companies meet with the Directors-General of the Ministries of Infrastructure and Water Management and Economic Affairs, as well as the Commander of the Royal Netherlands Air and Space Force, to discuss the most important issues facing the sector and to jointly define the strategic direction for both our industry and our association.
At the working level, AeroNL also maintains regular contact with the Dutch government. These interactions take place on a weekly basis and focus on matters such as policy development, market access, and opportunities within international markets.
Our key position papers are available for download on our website. Insights into the latest market trends and policy developments are shared with all of our members.
