From 21 to 25 September, AeroNL travelled to Malaysia and Singapore with a delegation of Dutch organisations. The week combined airport visits and meetings with key stakeholders in Malaysia, with a Dutch pavilion at the first edition of Passenger Terminal Expo Asia in Singapore. The response to the pavilion, the conversations, and the visits exceeded our expectations, and we return with many new connections and ideas to build on.
In Malaysia, the delegation visited Subang Airport, KLIA and Johor Airport, and met Malaysia Airports, MMC Corporation Berhad, CIDB Malaysia and the Malaysia Aerospace Industry Association. These visits and meetings gave us valuable insight into the developments, ambitions and opportunities shaping aviation in the region. In Singapore, we continued the conversation at PTE Asia 2026, where the Dutch pavilion on stand B152 welcomed many visitors. We also greatly appreciated the interest and visits from the Netherlands embassies in Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam and Thailand.
We are grateful to the Dutch organisations in our cluster for their joint effort. Together, they showed the breadth of Dutch expertise across the airport and aviation value chain:
- AAS International
- Aviation Solutions by Schiphol Group
- AviaVox
- Jotron
- MEP
- NACO
- NLR | Netherlands Aerospace Centre
- Ooms Producten | Sealoflex
- TKH Airport Solutions
- To70
- Vanderlande
The mission was organised within the Partners for International Business (PIB) Malaysia Airport Development Cluster, for which AeroNL signed the covenant together with RVO, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency. It would not have been possible without the cooperation and support of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Malaysia and RVO.
Looking ahead
The response has encouraged us to look ahead. We plan to host a Dutch pavilion again at PTE Asia on 24 and 25 November 2027 in Singapore, and we want to broaden the cluster with organisations whose solutions, technology or expertise can contribute to airport development in Malaysia and the wider region. Whether the pavilion goes ahead depends on the commitment of Dutch organisations, so we ask for an early signal before the end of 2026. We look forward to building on the connections made this September. If you would like to exhibit on the pavilion, join the PIB cluster, or learn more about either, please contact Fabienne de Hilster at fabienne.dehilster@aeronl.com.
