The Faculty of Aerospace Engineering at Delft University of Technology is one of the world’s most highly ranked (and most comprehensive) research, education and innovation communities devoted entirely to aerospace engineering. Our international community of more than 250 science staff, close to 400 PhD candidates and about 3000 BSc and MSc students makes a difference in aerospace engineering for a safe and sustainable society, focusing on the energy transition, sustainable aerospace and safety & security.
The Faculty of Aerospace Engineering (AE) is one of the largest faculties of TU Delft and one of the largest in Europe that concentrates on all aspects of aerospace engineering and associated fields like wind energy.
Knowledge of aerospace engineering
The AE faculty is a ‘research powerhouse’ with 80 academic staff members and almost 250 doctoral students. The four departments of the faculty have an excellent reputation in terms of both research and teaching. Currently, there are 2,600 students studying there, with 40% coming from abroad. The faculty collaborates with national and international institutes and companies. It also invests heavily in upholding a sustainable and fruitful relationship with its alumni.
Business Portal
The Faculty of Aerospace Engineering enjoys a long and varied tradition of collaboration with the aerospace sector, both in teaching and research. The world is changing rapidly, making its relationships with the business community more important than ever before. The faculty is also becoming increasingly pro-active in exploring new forms of collaboration, for example in the Pioneering Innovations projects.
The faculty’s Business Portal (www.lr.tudelft.nl/samenwerken) is a ‘landing page’ offering a clear overview of all the ways businesses can contact the faculty and opportunities for collaboration. This will further increase both the visibility and the accessibility of the faculty to the outside world, with the aim of: “Connecting Business to Science and Education”.
